Recipe! This homemade dal as restaurant style is so easy, simple, delicious and
my favorite recipe! This supar satisfying and tasty dal is made with mainly
toor dal, tomatoes, onions, coriander, dry herbs and spices.
This Dal Fry is very easy and easy to make. If you follow the recipe and use the ingredient ratio exactly as mentioned, I bet it will taste just like a restaurant.
Although I made it in restaurant style, I did not use a whole lot of oil as an outside meal. So it is healthy and you can make it on a daily basis.
‘Dal Fry with rice’ is like comfort in a bowl. It was a life saver for me and all time favorite and easy dish. On busy days for me best and easiest was khichdi and another days were dal fry with butter and plain rice.

Boiled fresh dal are cooked in onion-tomato with spices gravy. It taste like awesome and so easy melted in mouth, Dal fry is often served at indian restaurant.
INGREDIENTS
1/4cup toor dal or arhar dal
1/4 cup split yellow peas (yellow moong dal)
1/8 cup bengal gram dal (channa dal)
1/8 cup red split lintels (masoor dal)
3½ cup water
2 tbsp ghee / butter / oil
1 tsp mustard / rai
1 tsp jeera / cumin seeds
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
few curry leaves (optional)
pinch of hing / asafoetida (optional)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 green chilli, chopped
¼ tsp turmeric / haldi
½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder / lal mirch powder
½ tsp coriander powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Lemon juice
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp fresh green coriander, finely chopped
1 tsp kasuri methi / dry fenugreek leaves
How to make dal fry:
Cooking The Dal
⇒ All the dals gather together and mix well, wash the dals under the water properly and soak it for 30 minutes.

Prepare the Dal
⇒ Then add chopped onion and stir, wait for soft and turns into brown in color or pink color on medium flame.
⇒Add garlic, ginger paste and green chili.
⇒ Saute it for few minutes until the ginger garlic paste goes away.
⇒ Now add chopped tomatoes and mix it well and cook for few minutes until the tomatoes are soft.
⇒ Add coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, cumin powder and some kasoori methi. Mix well and cook for few minutes. Add little water to it to make sure the mixture does not burn.
⇒ Now the cooked dal add in it with 1 cup water and mix them well. If needed add more water to this mixture to achieve the desired consistency. Mix well and bring it to a boil. Cook this dal for 5 minutes.

Some Tips for that DAL BUTTER FRY RECIPE:
⇛ Making with ghee or butter will give you nice flavour.
⇛ For adjust the consistency of butter dal, adding water as per required.
⇛ For great taste, after prepared spread over some chopped coriander or crushed methi or jeera powder.
