Do you know why this butter chicken is so easy to make at home? The reason is the ingredients of this recipe, which is easily available in any grocery store. Most of them are in our kitchen already.

Why is it called butter chicken?

The reason for calling it butter chicken is because of the majority of the butter in it. Its gravy is made with butter, cream and cashew nuts. In fact, this gravy reminds us of another famous recipe called paneer butter masala.
In the same way, if you notice that this recipe is known as “Murgh makhani” in different places of India. If we have seen from the beginning, this dish was born in northern India (year-1948) and is very similar to the British traditional food chicken tikka masala.

How do you make this butter chicken at home?

I would say this butter chicken is famous only for its gravy. Personally, I like it very much. This famous butter chicken can be taken with parathas, bread, naan, tandoori roti or rice.
Some prefer a higher quantity of gravy or some less, no matter how hard it is, but it’s taste never decreases. Indians love a little more oil and spice, so in India, it is found in restaurants with little spicy. However, you can make it with less spice and seasoning.
As I said before, all the ingredients in this recipe are readily available, so you can easily make it with yogurt, ginger, garlic, tomato, and chicken easily. It’s best to use boneless chicken in this case but you can use any chicken you want.
  • First, mix some chicken with curd and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. (The longer you marinate, the juicier your chicken will be.)
  • Heat the oil well and sear the chicken well. Once fried, it will become a kind of chicken tikka. You can enjoy it only with coriander chatni if you want. But that’s another thing we’re talking about here in making butter chicken recipes.
  • Once the chicken is roasted, then follow the procedure below, and you can easily make this famous murgh makhani.

What spices will be used in butter chicken?

As I said earlier, whatever spices are used in your kitchen will only work and they will already be present in your spice bowl. If not, it can be purchased from a nearby grocery store or supermarket. Such as turmeric powder, cumin powder, hot spices, salt, red chili powder. Isn’t it right?
